October WAKE UP! Newport – Orange County Financial Update with Controller Eric Woolery, CPA

Eric H. Woolery, CPA, has long been an advocate of the Taxpayer: first, as the founder of a regional CPA firm specializing in services for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and later in the public sector as chief financial officer for a major county department. Eric was elected Orange County Auditor-Controller in June 2014 by an historic margin of 57% in a field of five candidates and was sworn into office in January 2015.

As Orange County’s Auditor-Controller, Eric Woolery leads the largest office among elected County Auditor-Controllers in California. He serves on the County’s Public Finance Advisory Committee, the Audit Oversight Committee, the Information Technology Executive Council, and the OCTA Measure M Taxpayer Oversight Committee.

Mr. Woolery began his accounting career at Ernst & Young, after graduating from Lutheran High School of Orange County and the California State University, Fullerton. He has also served as Treasurer for the City of Orange, and as an elected member of the Orange County Board of Education. He married his high school sweetheart Lisa. They live in Orange with their children Liam and Kate, and their dog Twix.
